Willkie Adds Department of the Treasury Attorney Britt Mosman in Washington

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP today announced the addition of Britt Mosman, former Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Department of Treasury. She joins the Firm as a partner in the Global Trade & Investment Practice Group and will be based in Washington, DC.

“Britt is an exceptional attorney with valuable insight from her experience at the Treasury and strong private practice experience,” said David Mortlock, Chair of Willkie’s Global Trade & Investment Practice Group and Managing Partner of the Washington office. “As our clients navigate the growing and fast-moving regulatory demands in international trade, security and compliance matters, her addition will expand and deepen our experience in these critically important areas. We are delighted to welcome her to our team.”

At Treasury, Ms. Mosman provided counsel on economic sanctions and national security matters, including as a lead attorney on the Iran, Ukraine/Russia, Cuba, Syria, Election Interference, and cyber-related sanctions programs. Prior to joining the Treasury Department in early 2019, she was an attorney at a large international law firm, where she advised global financial institutions and leading multinational companies on complex, international compliance and enforcement matters – particularly economic sanctions, AML, and anti-corruption laws, and transaction reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

“Willkie is known for its global reach, collaborative approach and deep bench of talent, which includes many talented former senior government officials,” said Ms. Mosman. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues to help clients across a range of industries stay ahead of the rapidly evolving regulatory and enforcement regimes that affect their cross-border transactions.”

Prior to joining private practice, Ms. Mosman served in a variety of roles in the federal judiciary and government agencies. She served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Robert J. Conrad, Jr. in the United States District Court, Western District of North Carolina. Earlier in her career, she was a law clerk for the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) and budget analyst for the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ms. Mosman received a BA from Brigham Young University (Honors Program) and a JD, cum laude, from Boston College Law School.
