The Newark office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Jody E. Saltzman as a partner in its real estate practice. She joins K&L Gates from Reed Smith LLP.
Saltzman advises landlords and tenants across the United States on a variety of real estate matters, including negotiating commercial leases, subleases, and licenses; reviewing and negotiating architect and construction agreements; and assisting with real estate portfolios. She works with clients in the retail, fashion, healthcare, and banking sectors to evaluate project goals, budgets, and timelines, as well as providing counsel on accounts receivable financing and third party servicing, factoring, and freight forwarding agreements, and assisting foreign clients with U.S. rollouts.
“We’re excited to welcome Jody to the firm,” said Anthony P. La Rocco, managing partner of K&L Gates’ Newark office. “Her local-area experience will grow our Newark and New York real estate offerings and complement our recently added hospitality and restructuring group.”
Saltzman’s arrival follows the July addition of a team of hospitality and restructuring and insolvency lawyers to K&L Gates’ Newark office. This included partners Scott McLester and Daniel Eliades and of counsels David Catuogno and William Waldman.
John A. Bicks, managing partner of K&L Gates’ New York office, stated: “Jody’s addition enhances our core real estate capabilities, giving the firm and our clients a competitive edge in a strategic market.”
With more than 135 lawyers, K&L Gates has one of the largest, most diversified real estate practices of any global law firm, advising clients in a variety of real estate investment, land use, planning and zoning, development and construction, financing, leasing, tax, and litigation matters.
