Eversheds Sutherland has appointed Patrick Gerry as Partner within its Real Estate practice, in Paris. He arrives with three colleagues, significantly growing the firm’s end-to-end real estate capability in Europe. Patrick arrives from Ashurst, where he was Partner in its real estate department since 2019.
The Real Estate and Finance teams in Paris have welcomed these four new appointments, significantly strengthening the team’s depth of practice. Patrick Gerry arrives as Partner, and is joined by Constance Guillaume, Senior Associate; Matthieu Augagneur, Associate; and Nausicaa Marzolf, Senior Paralegal. In addition, the team expects to be further strengthened with additional hires in the near future.
Prior to Ashurst, he was appointed as Head of Paris Real Estate at Simmons & Simmons in 2012, and had been a Partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe since 2007. He qualified to the Paris Bar in 2000, and holds a Diplôme Supérieur du Notariat from the University of Paris Panthéon-Assas, a double degree from the University of Pennsylvania (LL.M. Wharton Certificate in Business & Public Policy) and a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance from the University of Paris Dauphine.
He has broad experience across the logistics real estate sub-sector. He specialises in warehouse projects ranging from Class A (50,000 to 180,000 sqm) to urban logistics (500 to 10,000 sqm), and in all aspects of transactions: construction, purchase, sale, financing, tax structuring, portfolio creation and development. He advises large international investment funds and stakeholders across logistics and distribution sector, who are particularly concerned and affected by changes in consumption patterns, and the growth of e-commerce.
Patrick also stands out for his unique experience in Islamic finance, which he intends to continue to develop in collaboration with the firm’s Finance team, growing his practice in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Patrick will work alongside Christophe Sciot-Siegrist, Partner and Head of Real Estate (Paris), and Eric Métais, Partner, within Eversheds Sutherland’s Real Estate team in Paris, where he will be the third partner in a team of 10 lawyers whose objective is to become a leading real estate practice in France, Europe and internationally.

In addition, Paris-based Eric Knai was appointed as Head of M&A (International) in June 2021.
