Eversheds Sutherland has welcomed Emmanuel Ronco, as a partner, and his team of two associates, Edouard Burlet and Killian Lefèvre, to its IP/IT & Privacy team in Paris. Emmanuel, Edouard and Killian, who all join from Cleary Gottlieb, continue the expansion of the firm’s intellectual property, technology, data protection and cybersecurity practices.
Emmanuel is a graduate of Cornell Law School and the University of Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne, and a member of the Paris and New York Bars. He began his career at Herbert Smith Freehills before joining Cleary Gottlieb in 2007 where he became Counsel in 2013 and where he established and led the firm’s intellectual property and data protection team in Europe.
Emmanuel has a wealth of experience advising clients on technology transfers, valuation and monetisation of intangible assets, management of risks related to cybersecurity and data protection. Clients value his expertise in their complex matters covering M&A and competition matters including carve outs, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and development and distribution agreements.
Emmanuel is active across a wide range of sectors including hotels, fashion and luxury goods, banking and finance, consumer goods, industrials, private equity and sports, having previously advised clients on a number of high-profile transactions.
With a strong international background, Emmanuel will work closely with Eversheds Sutherland’s global offices, particularly in the UK, US, Asia and the Middle East.
Edouard and Killian have been working with Emmanuel since they began practicing as lawyers. Both have a strong legal background and experience at Cleary Gottlieb.
