King & Spalding Adds Four-Lawyer White Collar Crime Team in Paris

King & Spalding has recruited a Paris-based white-collar crime team, led by partner Jean Tamalet, to expand and strengthen its international Government Matters Practice Group. Tamalet is a French criminal lawyer who represents both corporations and their executives in a variety of matters, focusing primarily on alleged criminal financial fraud offences. He most recently worked at Bird & Bird, prior to which he had established his own white-collar crime boutique, Tamalet & Associés.

“Jean is one of the leading white-collar lawyers in France, and the team represents an important, strategic expansion for our practice internationally,” said Wick Sollers, head of King & Spalding’s Government Matters practice. “His highly-regarded background in representing high-profile clients, both individual and institutional, in international investigations involving complex issues will create many invaluable opportunities for our colleagues in the US, Europe and around the world.”

Tamalet is also ranked in Legal 500.

“Jean and his team give our Paris office exciting new perspectives, with their white-collar experience adding further depth to our existing practices,” added Vanessa Benichou, office managing partner in Paris. “In the last two years we’ve added partners Laurent Bensaid, Laurent Jaeger, Anne Vrignaud and Guillaume Aubatier to our transactional and disputes teams, and, in Jean, we are pleased to welcome him to the firm and maintain that momentum.”
