Olivier advises on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions in the energy, infrastructure, finance and real estate sectors. He acts for listed companies and financial institutions on both public and private M&A matters, corporate reorganizations and securities law issues. In addition, Olivier advises startups on financing rounds, as well as family offices on investment matters. He is recognized as a Rising Star for his M&A work by Legal 500 EMEA 2020.
Most recently, Olivier advised French utility company Engie on the $2 billion sale of its upstream LNG business to Total, global infrastructure investor and fund manager DIF on the sale of its stakes in 29 solar assets in France to Tenergie, and real estate investment company Gecina on the sale of a hotel portfolio to Angelo Gordon and Raise Reim.

Olivier is the latest addition to Orrick’s global M&A and PE team which has grown over the last two years across its European and U.S. offices. Recent hires include James Connor from Simpson Thacher, Daniel Wayte from Milbank and Ed Lukins from Cooley in London; Christine Kaniak from Kirkland & Ellis in Munich; and Matthew Gemello from Baker & McKenzie in Silicon Valley. Additionally, the firm promoted three lawyers in Paris to partner in January: Geoffroy Berthon, Nadège Owen and Olivier Vuillod.
