Nassim Ghalimi joins Osborne Clarke with his team, Paul Lafuste and Mathilde Rousseau, in order to complete the range of services by creating the Insolvency and Restructuring practice. Ghalimi and his team join Osborne Clarke from Veil Jourde in Paris.
Nassim Ghalimi has been an attorney since 2005 and intervenes in out-of-court prevention procedures as well as in court-ordered reorganization procedures, both in counseling and litigation for 16 years.
His added value is to deal creatively and efficiently, with high technicality and impeccable ethics, with the most complex situations and to accompany debtors, buyers, managers, shareholders and creditors both in a preventive framework (ad hoc mandate, conciliation) and in a judicial framework (safeguard, receivership or liquidation).
Its close collaboration with the key players in the world of restructuring (court administrators and court-appointed agents, specialized lawyers, financial advisors, interim managers, commercial courts, CIRI, etc.) is a strong operating leverage to manage all types of cases.
His rigor and technical expertise combined with his humanity are well known and recognized and make him and his team valuable assets for the success of the operations they carry out, whether for French or foreign companies whose interests are located in France.
For Nassim Ghalimi, the choice of joining Osborne Clarke was obvious and based on his “desire to join a firm part of a dynamic international network. I was impressed by the energy and cohesion of the partners and their teams and touched by the warm welcome and kindness I received. Participating in the development of a dynamic project where the human factor has high preponderance is totally in line with our expectations and makes a lot of sense for me and my colleagues. Integrating Osborne Clarke is a great opportunity for my team and myself to keep on developing alongside specialists who are highly recognized in their discipline, who share our values, our ambitions and the same desire to provide our clients with highly specialized expertise in a global approach to cases, especially in the current context.”
For Catherine Olive and Maxime Pigeon, co-managing partners of Osborne Clarke in Paris, “the arrival of Nassim and his team is a great opportunity for our firm thanks to his personality and the complementarity of his activities with those of our existing teams. The strategic importance of Nassim’s expertise will enable us to pursue our continued growth and address the many challenges of 2021. We are convinced that he will bring a lot to our firm, in terms of shared values, a strong desire to build and develop in teams and a commitment to serving our clients.”
Nassim began his career as lawyer within Sonier & Associés law firm in 2005, becoming partner in 2010 before joining at the end of 2011 the law firm Veil Jourde as partner in charge of the Insolvency and Restructuring department. Nassim holds a Master’s degree in civil law (University of Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne) and after lecturing at the university in business law at Sciences Po Paris for several years, he teaches currently at the Sorbonne Law School (Paris I), at the Paris Bar School and at HEC.
Nassim is a member of several associations related to restructuring and insolvency law (Association pour le retournement des entreprises – ARE, AFFIC, IFPPC, Droit & Commerce),. Nassim is described as a “remarkable counsel of rare humanity” and a “fine jurist who leads with tact, mastery and efficiency the cases he handles”.
Paul Lafuste joined Nassim’s team in 2013, first as an intern, then as an associate. He holds a Master I in Law and Management from the University of Paris Dauphine and a Master II in Advanced Corporate Law from the University of Paris Dauphine, and was sworn in in 2013.
