Paris Partner Addition Expands Squire’s Global Restructuring & Insolvency Practice; Hire Follows New London Team

Squire Patton Boggs is further strengthening its global Restructuring & Insolvency Practice with the addition of Paris partner Arnaud Moussatoff. He joins from Brown Rudnick and follows a five lawyer restructuring team that recently joined in London.

Arnaud’s addition is an important milestone for the office as we build-out a full service restructuring practice in Paris to support our clients and complement our European team.”

Mr. Moussatoff’s focuses his practice on industrial and financial restructuring matters implemented through out-of-court (mandat ad hoc and conciliation) and in-court proceedings (sauvegarde/redressement judiciaire). He advises on turnaround matters, representing debtors in negotiations with shareholders, lenders, the French State, suppliers and others to obtain reorganization agreements. In this frame, he assists debtors in strengthening their equity, in resizing and restructuring their debt and finding financing solutions.

Mr. Moussatoff also advises on distressed M&A matters, representing investment funds and industrial investors investing in underperforming companies through the setting up of complex investment schemes and bespoke security packages with specific expertise in French trust devices (fiducie). From an insolvency perspective, he represents debtors in the setting up and implementation of reorganization plans through prepackaged solutions or representing industrial investors in judicial business takeover plans. He is also experienced in monitoring international insolvency proceedings relating to group companies based in different jurisdictions or defending creditors’ interests against debtors under insolvency proceedings.

In addition, Mr. Moussatoff advises on litigation matters related to the French insolvency law and post-acquisition litigation such as shareholder disputes.

Over the past few months, the firm has made a number of senior hires in Paris, including private equity partners Arnaud Lafarge from Lamy Lexel, Maxime Dequesne from private equity boutique Lamartine Conseil and Anthony Guillaume from DLA, as well as acquisition leverage finance partner Benjamin Marché who joined from Shearman & Sterling.
