Prior to joining K&L Gates as partner in 2014, Ledoux served as counsel in the Paris office of Allen & Overy.
She has advised a broad range of investors and industrial companies, in particular in the energy, infrastructure and real estate segments, as well as financial institutions on M&A transactions.
A substantial portion of Ledoux’s practice over the years has been cross-border, primarily involving transactions across Europe, and with the United States and Canada, and in particular Québec. It is anticipated that this will continue with Reed Smith’s fully integrated global practice across thirty offices.
The news highlights Reed Smith’s continued expansion across Europe. So far this year, the firm has opened a new European office with five competition, regulatory and trade partners consisting of Christian Filippitsch from Norton Rose Fulbright, Isabelle Rahman from Sheppard Mullin, Geert Goeteyn from Shearman & Sterling, Yves Melin from Steptoe & Johnson and Wim Vandenberghe from Deloitte Legal. They were also joined by one counsel and two associates. In addition, the group welcomed corporate partner Sam Webster in London.
Delphine Currie, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group, said: “Caroline is a fantastic addition to the group and we are delighted to have her on board. Her broad corporate M&A experience and additional focus on real estate, infrastructure and financial institutions and cross-border work make her a great addition to the team in Paris and to a number of our key industry groups.”
Ledoux said: “I am delighted to be joining Reed Smith which is a fantastic global firm with a standout reputation and an increasingly strong presence across Europe.”
Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group covers all aspects of corporate and commercial law and spans the firm’s 30 offices. The EME corporate practice has undergone significant growth over the past few years with the arrival of: a 50-strong multijurisdictional team from King & Wood Mallesons specialising in corporate, M&A, private equity, capital markets and tax at the start of 2017; a tax team from Winston & Strawn in Paris later that year; and the addition of Florian Hirschmann in Munich in 2018. More recently, life sciences transactional partner Iqbal Hussain joined in London in September 2019, Martin Bünning joined in Frankfurt in December 2019 and Adela Mues joined in Dubai in January 2020.
