Squire Patton Boggs Continues Expansion with Two New Partner Appointments in Perth

International law firm Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce the appointment of two new partners, Simon Adams and Caroline Brown, who join the firm’s global Corporate practice in the Perth office from Holman Fenwick Willan.

Simon Adams is a corporate and commercial lawyer with extensive experience in energy, resources and competition law. He specialises in advising on all aspects of the power and gas industries, including regulated markets and network and pipeline infrastructure. Mr Adams is a member of the Western Australian Energy Review Board.

Caroline Brown practices in energy, competition and regulatory law and disputes. She has broad commercial litigation experience. Since 2002 Caroline has acted for the Economic Regulation Authority in relation to access disputes before a number of Courts and review bodies.

The pair commented: “SPB’s global strength in key energy and resources markets and strong reputation in international arbitrations were key factors in our decision to join the firm and we are looking forward to working with our new colleagues around the network.”

This brings to seven the number of new partner appointments in Australia over the past year and reflects the expansion taking place elsewhere around the firm, including in London, Singapore, Milan, Dubai and across the United States.

Tony Chong, Perth managing partner, said: “Simon and Caroline’s appointments signal the firm’s intention to play a leading role in this sector. Their expertise and capability is essential in order to meet our clients’ growing needs. This approach echoes our global strategy of making smart, strategic hires of talented people who will add further depth to our outstanding global energy practice.”
