Cozen O’Connor Welcomes New Member to Energy, Environmental and Public Utilities Practice

Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that it has hired Christine Soares as a member of its Energy, Environmental & Public Utilities Practice. Christine joins Cozen O’Connor from Fox Rothschild LLP, where she was a partner in the Litigation Department. She will be resident in the firm’s Cherry Hill, N.J., office.

Christine concentrates her practice on regulatory, commercial, and litigation disputes involving public utilities. She practices before local and state regulatory agencies and state and federal courts on behalf of her clients, which include public utilities, common and contract carriers, and taxicab companies. She is experienced in base rate, certificate of public convenience, rulemaking and formal complaint proceedings involving metering, service, and billing issues. Christine’s experience also includes successfully challenging the constitutionality of laws and regulations pertaining to common carriers before local agencies and state appellate courts and advocating on their behalf in federal court under Section 1983. She also provides ongoing legal counsel to transportation and logistics companies on a wide range of legal issues, including claims handling, licensing, contract review and other corporate matters.

In addition to her energy and public utilities practice, Christine is dedicated to pro bono and leadership initiatives. She currently serves as president of the Professional Women’s Roundtable, a nonprofit organization that provides networking, leadership, educational, and personal growth opportunities to women business leaders in the Greater Philadelphia region. She also handles pro bono work through the SeniorLAW Center and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Prisoner Civil Rights Panel.

Christine received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her B.A. from La Salle University.
