Cozen O’Connor is pleased to welcome veteran long-term care insurance attorney Michael Rafalko to the firm’s Global Insurance Department. He joins as a member and will be resident in the Philadelphia office. Rafalko joins Cozen O’Connor from Drinker Biddle, where he served as co-chair of the firm’s long-term care insurance practice.
Rafalko brings a significant depth of experience litigating class actions and complex coverage and bad faith disputes involving long-term care insurers and other entities in the long-term care insurance arena. In addition, Rafalko has significant experience leading regulatory, compliance and counseling engagements, and consulting on deals involving long-term care insurance blocks and their administration.

Rafalko is also experienced assisting national and international clients with a broad range of life insurance, P&C, D&O, E&O, health insurance, disability, and annuities issues. Outside of the insurance arena, Rafalko has acted as lead defense counsel in commercial class actions.

Michael earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was Lead Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Commerce. He earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University.
