Faegre Drinker Continues Growth in Philadelphia With Class Action Litigator Tim Katsiff

Faegre Drinker announced today that Tim Katsiff has joined Faegre Drinker’s business litigation practice group as a partner in the Philadelphia office. Katsiff joins from Ballard Spahr where he led the class action litigation team. He is the fourth partner to join the firm’s business litigation practice in Philadelphia since September 2023.

In September 2023, the firm welcomed the nationally recognized trial team of partners Richard Scheff, Carrie Sarhangi Love, Katharine Ladd and Jonathan Boughrum, as well as counsel Dave Herman. The Philadelphia office has seen additional growth with the addition of insurance counsel Jaci Gordon and, most recently, environmental partner Tom Duncan in May.

Katsiff is a versatile and seasoned litigator who focuses his practice on the areas of transactional and securities litigation, as well as complex commercial litigation and class actions. He has also handled various governmental investigations. Katsiff regularly advises clients in high-stakes litigation.

“Tim is an extremely skilled attorney who has built a strong litigation practice,” said business litigation practice group leader Debbie Ellingboe. “His experience in class actions, commercial and securities litigation will really bolster those focuses in our practice and deepens our bench.”

As a securities litigator, Katsiff represents companies and their directors and officers in shareholder class action litigation, merger-related litigation, and corporate governance disputes. He has defended public companies in merger-related shareholder suits in California, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Katsiff represents clients in wide variety of business litigation including contract disputes, business torts, trade secrets and corporate governance litigation.

“Tim has a sophisticated practice and collaborative work style that is the perfect fit for the firm and a great addition to our Philadelphia office,” said Philadelphia office leader Dan Aiken. “We are excited to welcome him to Faegre Drinker.”

Katsiff earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago and his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School.
