Philadelphia Partner Hire for Kennedys Boosts Insurance Capabilities

Kennedys is pleased to announce the addition of insurance coverage attorney Louis Kozloff. Prior to joining the firm, Kozloff practiced in the Philadelphia office of Goldberg Segalla LLP.

With over 20 years’ experience in the insurance field, Lou represents insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation, and regularly advises insurance industry clients on a wide variety of coverage issues, including directors’ and officers’, errors and omissions, general liability, marine and extra-contractual exposure matters. He joins as a partner in our Philadelphia office.

Lou graduated from Dartmouth College in 1993 and University of Pittsburgh Law School in 1998, and has experience in both private practice and in-house, having served as Chief Litigation Counsel at Harleysville Insurance Company. He is widely regarded as a thought leader in the field and is frequently called upon to speak and write on emerging insurance coverage issues.

Partner Chris Carroll, who sits on our global strategy board, says: “The appointment of Lou marks another phase of our strategic plan to grow the range of services we can deliver to our clients from the US. He is a perfect fit as he works for several of the same insurer clients and he will be a valuable addition to our existing capabilities.”

Meg Catalano, US managing partner, added: “Lou’s addition strengthens our growing insurance coverage practice in the US. His arrival follows our recent office expansion in Philadelphia, and so his experience will be invaluable in growing the office further.”

Commenting on his appointment, Lou Kozloff, says: “Kennedys has a wonderful reputation in the US and internationally. I am excited to be working within a firm having broad global reach which will enable me to collaborate with international offices and make good use of my contacts in the world-leading London Insurance Market and continue to serve existing clients in the US.”

It has been two years since Kennedys merged with Carroll McNulty & Kull (CMK). During that time Kennedys has significantly strengthened their US insurance practice and global capabilities through a number of prominent lateral hires, most recently with the addition of Maurice Pesso and Greg Steinberg as partners in our New York office.

In June Kennedys reported strong financial growth which has been supported by a 12% increase in headcount across our offices in New York City, New Jersey, Chicago, Philadelphia, Austin and Miami.
