Ronald “Ron” Hatcher has joined the Phoenix office as a partner in the Real Estate Group. Mr. Hatcher has extensive experience in complex real estate and business transactions. He has successfully represented and advised clients ranging from individuals to large national and regional companies in the negotiations of commercial lease, purchase, sale and joint venture agreements.
Mr. Hatcher’s real estate experience also includes dispositions and acquisitions, development annexation and re-zoning agreements related to retail, residential and industrial developments. Mr. Hatcher has also served as General Counsel for Arizona based real estate developers. In this capacity, Mr. Hatcher handled all legal matters regarding real estate, finance, employment and estate tax. Some highlights from Mr. Hatcher’s experience include:
- Successful negotiations of commercial lease transactions on behalf of landlords and tenants involving multiple national brand retailers totaling in excess of 10 million square feet of gross leasable area.
- Successful negotiations of annexations and re-zonings of improved and unimproved properties.
- Successful negotiation of a $55 Million sale of a million square foot regional shopping center to a publicly traded REIT.
- Successful negotiations of IT service and content agreements for web based services and sales, including flash sales on national network televised morning shows.
- Successful negotiations of construction and permanent financing for loans totaling over $500 Million.
- Negotiation for the acquisition of a historical building in downtown San Diego as well as coordination and documentation of the successful historical registration of the property and subsequent renovation and leasing as a mixed-use project.
- Successful completion of re-zonings of residentially zoned properties to commercial zoning designations and negotiation of development agreements with municipalities and surrounding residential neighborhoods permitting the commercial development and leasing of retail shopping centers.
- Successful negotiations of equipment sale and lease agreements of solar photovoltaic systems on behalf of solar providers.
Mr. Hatcher earned his J.D. from IIT Chicago Kent College of Law and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona.
