Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Todd V. Jones, former Vice
President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at GE Capital Franchise Finance (GE),
has joined the firm’s Phoenix office as Partner.
Jones started at GE in 2002. While at GE, a multi-billion dollar franchise finance company, he provided legal and transaction support for private equity portfolio companies and structured sales and risk teams, including syndicated and non-syndicated complex financial transactions. He also provided decisive strategic guidance on significant litigation, bankruptcy and restructure matters. During his time at GE, Jones was the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2014 GE Capital General Counsel Award (recognizing leadership on big data
and e-signature initiatives), 2013 GEFF President’s Award (recognizing leadership on $2.2B SLB divestiture), and 2012 GE Capital Americas Legal Value Award (acknowledging pro bono and charitable efforts).
At Snell & Wilmer, Jones will focus his practice in commercial finance, debt and equity restructurings, and
general commercial law. His experience for 14 years as internal counsel with a large finance company
enables him to provide business and strategic savvy legal advice on a variety of issues facing both
financial institutions and companies seeking to obtain debt financing. Jones leverages his many years
advising clients in the franchise and owner-operator industries, together with his prior experience, to
provide multiple clients in many other markets and areas focused and practical guidance on a multitude of
business issues. In addition to his debt and equity product experience, he has led or co-led significant
multi-billion dollar asset sales, acquisitions, securitizations and related corporate matters. His background
includes large publicly traded Chapter 11 reorganizations, real estate bankruptcy matters and related
workouts.
Jones holds an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell® . He is a member of the
International Franchise Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel. His community activities
include being a Member of Executive Committee and Immediate Past Board Chair for the Special
Olympics Arizona since 2005, as well as being a member of the Finance Committee at St. Gabriel’s
Catholic School since 2011. Jones earned his J.D. from Cornell University Law School and his B.A.A.S. in
International Relations from the University of Delaware.
