Cozen O’Connor Continues Expansion of Commercial Litigation Practice with the Addition of Litigator Andrew W. Reinhart

Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that distinguished litigator Andrew W. Reinhart, who brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial transportation litigation, will be joining the Pittsburgh Commercial Litigation Practice. Reinhart is a respected litigator and mediator, focusing on managing and leading the Union Pacific Railroad FELA work. He is the latest addition to Cozen O’Connor’s steadily growing and nationally recognized Commercial Litigation Practice. Reinhart joins the firm from Burns White LLC.

“Bringing on someone with the level of trust and respect that Andrew has garnered in his work for a major transportation company is a tremendous asset for Cozen O’Connor,” commented James H. Heller, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Commercial Litigation Department. “His experience will be greatly complementary among multiple practices, which will make him a significant asset to an already robust and growing department.”

Reinhart served as national counsel for The Union Pacific Railroad for over 20 years, litigating cases before federal, state, and regulatory courts across the United States. Following that role, Reinhart joined Burns White focusing on transportation litigation, regulatory matters, compliance issues, occupational health and safety matters, whistleblowers actions, labor and employment disputes, real estate litigation, zoning, commercial matters, contractual negotiations, toxic tort litigation, products liability litigation, and other complex litigation from pre-lawsuit through appellate stages.

“We are thrilled to have Andrew join our Commercial Litigation Practice. He brings a level of in-depth knowledge and a history of relationship building that is an absolute necessity in this field,” said Jeremiah G. Garvey, Cozen O’Connor’s Managing Partner of the Pittsburgh office. “We believe his experience having successfully served as a litigator in some of the most notoriously difficult jurisdictions will only enhance the broad depth of talent we currently have in Pittsburgh.”

Reinhart is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and served as a faculty member at the Trial College. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from the Union Pacific Law Department and a co-author of the paper, “Managing Risks in Construction Contracts and Subcontracts.” Dedicated to his community, he has been a volunteer for the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership’s Custody Conciliation Project and is a board member of the Center for Theater Arts in Mt. Lebanon, Pa.

“I am so pleased to be able to offer my clients the enhanced experience and depth of resources that Cozen O’Connor provides,” Reinhart said. “Having worked with many major American transportation companies, I am confident that my practice will fit well within the existing Commercial Litigation practice.”

Reinhart earned his J.D. at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law and his B.A. in history at the University of Notre Dame.
