Nexsen Pruet Lands Two Seasoned Real Estate Attorneys, Adding Keith Burns and Brad Staley in Raleigh

Nexsen Pruet announced today that seasoned attorneys Keith Burns and Brad Staley have joined the firm in Raleigh in a move that underscores Nexsen Pruet’s focus on broadening its comprehensive Real Estate practice for businesses in North Carolina.

Burns, a Member, has more than two decades of experience representing clients in matters involving lending, commercial real estate and business transactions. Staley, Special Counsel, has a broad background delivering counsel on the acquisition, leasing, financing, and development of commercial real estate.

Franklin Daniels, Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, said the addition of Burns and Staley will add significant value to the firm and the businesses and individuals its attorneys represent.

Burns serves as lenders’ counsel in matters involving original loans, refinances, and restructurings. He also advises clients on real estate purchases, leases, supplier and customer contracts, acquisitions, and dissolutions.

Staley represents national and regional lenders in a wide range of transactions and delivers counsel to developers and homebuilders in the acquisition and development of real property. He has also helped a number of national title insurance companies satisfy title claims requiring reformation actions.

Prior to joining the firm, Staley spent more than a decade as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the United States Navy. He was the primary legal advisor to special operations forces during multiple combat tours to both Iran and Afghanistan and served as general counsel to a three-star commanding general and his staff as well as the commanders of ten additional subordinate commands.

Burns earned his law degree from Wake Forest University and an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Staley earned his law degree from Wake Forest University and an undergraduate degree, with honors, from North Carolina State University.
