Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Johnson has joined the firm as a Partner, and Tara Cho, Lynn Percival, and Jake Lopes have joined the firm as Associates. All will be members of the firm’s new Privacy & Data Security Practice Group, which will be led by Ms. Johnson.
The team has more than 20 years combined experience practicing in this area. Their work addresses all aspects of privacy and data security law, including compliance initiatives to address major legal requirements such as HIPAA, emerging legislation such as cyber threat sharing, international data transfers, direct marketing, complex commercial matters such as cloud computing, and implementation of privacy-impactful technologies such as personal health devices, location tracking measures, and the Internet of Things. They also frequently advise clients on comprehensive data security assessments, vulnerability testing, and security incident detection and response. The team has handled more than 300 data security incidents and advised clients on any resultant breach notification obligations.
