Jack P. Hopper, Esq., is a Managing Director in the Houston office and Austin office of Kinney Recruiting. Jack has over twenty years of legal recruiting experience and has placed scores of attorneys, including partners, associates and corporate counsel in markets across the globe. He has lived and recruited in Austin, Houston, Miami and Atlanta during his long career, and knows the intricacies of the practice of law and the stringent requirements of his clients. Jack comes from a long tradition of lawyers. His father was a Senior Partner and Head of the Labor Section at Vinson & Elkins in Houston. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a BA in History and was also a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Following his undergraduate studies, Jack attended South Texas College of Law where he obtained his JD.
Upon graduating from law school, Jack joined the Houston office of the law firm Stumph & Falgout. As an associate in the litigation group, his practice concentrated on a commercial litigation docket. Jack then became Division Counsel for Stewart & Stevenson, a Fortune 500 Houston based company. While attending law school, Jack also worked in the Legal Department of Coastal Corporation. He is a member of the Texas State Bar and other local and national bar and professional associations.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack enjoys spending his free time fishing, hunting, and retreating to his house in Panama. Jack also volunteers for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Austin, as well as Drive A Senior. A native Texan, born and raised in Houston, he currently resides in Austin, Texas with his wife, daughter and dogs.
