Jessica Chin Somers, Esq., is a Managing Director at Kinney Recruiting, where she matches attorneys to law firm and in-house opportunities in New York and Nationwide. Prior to joining Kinney, Jessica was a top-performing legal recruiter in the New York office of another legal recruiting agency where she placed attorneys in law firms and corporations in New York City, Long Island, and across the United States.

Jessica earned her BA from Johns Hopkins University where she was a member of the Varsity Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams. She is also an alumna of Phillips Exeter Academy, Robert Kinney’s rival high school, but they get along well. She received her JD from American University Washington College of Law, where she was an Editor of the American University International Law Review. A glutton for punishment, she also earned an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. At Georgetown, Jessica was chosen as one of six students to participate in the EUCOTAX – Wintercourse in Łódź, Poland, where she presented a paper on U.S. international anti-abuse tax provisions. After graduating from Georgetown, Jessica joined the law firm Kundra & Associates in Rockville, Maryland. At Kundra, she represented individuals and small businesses in federal, state, and international tax law matters.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys running, hiking, and working on the New York Times Crossword. Jessica has competed in 10 marathons, including the Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon. She is a member of the Central Park Track Club in New York.
