Smith Anderson is pleased to announce that Kevin Ceglowski, a highly rated employment law attorney with deep experience in advising, representing and defending employers in state and federal courts, has joined the firm’s Workplace Law team as a partner.
Prior to joining Smith Anderson, Kevin worked as an attorney with a North Carolina law firm where he represented employers in many areas of employment law. His extensive experience includes defending discrimination charges, counseling and advice, drafting employee handbooks and policies, providing employment-related support on mergers and acquisitions, litigation avoidance counseling, administrative employment law, drafting restrictive covenants and litigating restrictive covenant matters, and general employment litigation.
Kevin defends clients before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the United States and North Carolina Departments of Labor, in state and federal courts and in arbitrations. Kevin also guides management to ensure employment practices comply with all applicable statutes and regulations, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, and workplace privacy issues.
Kevin speaks regularly on employment matters and has been recognized by Best Lawyers® (Employment Law), Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (Labor & Employment), and Super Lawyers (Employment & Labor). He is a graduate of Campbell University School of Law and is very involved in the community, serving in leadership roles with The Raleigh School, SAFEchild and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
