Veteran New Jersey trial attorney Leonard C. Leicht has joined Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin’s Roseland office as a shareholder in the Casualty Department. Highly accomplished in the arena of trucking and transportation litigation, he will continue to focus on commercial motor vehicle matters, as well as personal injury, employment law, civil rights, and other general and professional liability matters. Mr Leicht comes to Marshall Dennehey from the now shuttered Morgan Melhuish Abrutyn, where he practiced for 33 years and was an esteemed equity partner of the firm.
Recognized by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, he has tried numerous cases to verdict in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York.
He has handled precedent-setting appellate matters before the Supreme Court and Appellate Division of New Jersey, including the Johnson v. Braddy trucking litigation. He has also successfully argued appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
“Leonard is one of the top litigators in the insurance defense industry in the New Jersey region, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the firm,” said Howard P. Dwoskin, Executive Committee member and Director of the firm’s Casualty Department. “His level of experience and regional connections he brings will be an asset to our expanding casualty practice and provide tangible benefits to our clients.”
Among his numerous professional memberships, Mr. Leicht is a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association, Transportation Lawyers Association, Transportation and Logistics Council, New Jersey State and Essex County Bar Associations and the New Jersey Defense Association. He is a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers University School of Law and is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
