Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Caroline L. Cao to its Sacramento and San Francisco offices as a partner in the firm’s Corporate, Chinese Business & Litigation, and Real Estate & Land Use Practices. Ms. Cao brings to Lewis Brisbois more than 15 years of transactional experience, most recently as the general counsel for the Oceanwide Center. With a particular focus on managing securities and corporate finance, cross-border transactions, and real estate matters, Ms. Cao works with clients of all sizes across several industries. Fluent in Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese, Ms. Cao also has significant experience assisting China-based companies with compliance, investments, financing, international licensing, and joint ventures.
Calling her decision to join Lewis Brisbois “easy,” Ms. Cao explained that the firm’s strong Securities & Corporate Finance Practice was appealing, with her extensive experience with corporate formation and governance, securities, mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, private placements, and joint ventures. “I think that my perspective from a business standpoint allows me to think and be aligned with a client in terms of how a business will operate,” she said. Ms. Cao also spoke highly of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at the firm, noting the Women’s Initiative and diversity among the firm’s partners and leadership.

Ms. Cao received her law degree from the China University of Political Science and Law, and an L.L.M. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She also received a certificate in European Competition Law from her legal study in Oriel College, University of Oxford. Ms. Cao is admitted to practice in California and New York.
