Kathryn M.S. Catherwood has joined Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani as a partner in the firm’s San Diego office. Catherwood is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights, Commercial Litigation and Business Transactions Practice Groups.
Catherwood brings a depth of experience in bankruptcy law, primarily representing creditors and trustees. She focuses her practice on lender liability/secured creditor issues and mechanic’s lien law. Catherwood is also skilled as a commercial litigator.

Catherwood earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She also earned her B.S.N. and B.S.in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin. For three consecutive years (2015-17), she has been ranked as a Top Lawyer in San Diego Magazine as well as listed on San Diego Super Lawyers® for seven years.
Catherwood is admitted to practice in California, Wisconsin and in the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court, Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central Districts of California. She is a member of the California Bar Association and State Bar of Wisconsin. She currently serves on the Local Bankruptcy Rules Advisory Board and is on the Board of Trustees of the San Diego Law Library Foundation where she has also been the president and events committee chair. She is current a member and past president of the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum and the California Bankruptcy Forum.
