Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Charles J. Stevens has returned to the firm in its San Francisco office as a partner. Stevens, a former Gibson Dunn partner, U.S. Attorney and Assistant U.S. Attorney, was the founding partner of Stevens, O’Connell & Jacobs, a litigation boutique focused on government investigations.
Stevens will practice in the areas of government and internal investigations, white collar defense and related complex civil litigation. Stevens joins more than 40 former Justice Department lawyers at the firm who represent clients in courts across the country.
“We are delighted to welcome Chuck back to the firm,” said Ken Doran, Chairman and Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. “He is an outstanding lawyer with a stellar reputation both in Northern California and nationally. Expanding the firm’s white collar practice is a priority for the firm, and the addition of a partner with Chuck’s strong background and stature both in private practice and as a U.S. Attorney is a tremendous step toward expanding our white collar and litigation capability.”
“Chuck is a terrific addition to the firm,” said Mary Murphy, Partner in Charge of the firm’s San Francisco office. “He knows the firm, and we know him. He is highly regarded by the white collar bar, and he has tried more than 30 cases to verdict. With his experience, reputation and leadership, Chuck will be a great asset to our white collar and civil litigation practices in the San Francisco office and firmwide.”
