Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. continues to expand its San Francisco office with the addition of Robert E. Burwell, who joins the firm’s Corporate & Securities Section as a Member.
Mr. Burwell, who was a partner in the private equity practice of Latham & Watkins, brings deep experience in corporate and securities matters, including private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, spin-offs and general corporate and securities matters. He has served as a regular outside corporate and securities counsel for a number of public and private companies, including international retailer PriceSmart, Inc.

Mr. Burwell has been honored as one of the 500 Leading Dealmakers in America by Lawdragon Magazine and is listed as a Top Attorney in Corporate and Securities Law in America by Super Lawyers magazine. He served as a clerk for Judge John S. Rhoades of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
A graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Law School, Mr. Burwell is a former Co-chair of the Stanford Law Society of San Diego and a former member of the Stanford Law School Board of Visitors.
