DLA Piper announced today that Jonathan Axelrad has joined the firm’s Corporate and Finance practice as a partner in the San Francisco office.
Axelrad represents emerging growth companies throughout their life cycle. He also represents venture capital and private equity funds that invest in early-stage companies, assisting in financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance issues.
“The San Francisco venture capital and startup scene has grown significantly over the last few years, and there are only a handful of young lawyers who have deep experience serving that market. Jonathan is one of those lawyers who can help companies access capital and navigate complex business challenges,” said Ed Batts, co-chair of the firm’s Northern California Corporate and Finance practice.
“Jonathan joins a talented team of corporate practitioners serving the Bay Area’s most innovative entrepreneurs, technology companies and venture funds,” said Stephen Cowan, managing partner of DLA Piper’s San Francisco office. “We welcome him to DLA Piper and believe the firm’s global platform will greatly benefit his growing list of promising emerging growth technology companies.”
Axelrad joins DLA Piper from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from the University of Victoria in British Columbia.
