Global law firm Goodwin announced today that Jennifer Fisher joined the firm’s Litigation and Cannabis practices as partner in the San Francisco office. Fisher joins the firm from Duane Morris LLP.

“Goodwin’s California litigation team remains focused on building scale with the best talent in the market,” said Tony Fiotto, chair of Goodwin’s Securities Litigation, White Collar Defense and Business Litigation practices. “As demand grows for our litigation and corporate expertise at the intersection of capital and innovation, Jen’s robust commercial litigation and regulatory experience, as well as her leadership in the cannabis legal industry will add significant value to our clients.”

Fisher’s practice is focused on litigation, including commercial litigation and white collar defense, and cannabis law. She has represented corporations and individuals involved in a broad range of complex and high stakes civil and criminal litigation, legislative and administrative proceedings. She regularly advises cannabis operators, ancillary businesses and investors on regulatory compliance, licensing and disclosure obligations. Fisher also represents cannabis companies in litigation.

“As funds continue to pour into the fast-evolving cannabis industry, we are seeing an increasing need among cannabis companies and their investors for corporate, financing, regulatory and litigation counsel,” said Brett Schuman, chair of Goodwin’s San Francisco Office and co-chair of the firm’s Cannabis practice. “I’ve worked across the table from Jen and know her to be one of the best lawyers in the cannabis business, with a specialized skillset that will give a significant advantage in serving our growing client base in this field.”
