Venable LLP announces the addition of leading intellectual property litigator Susan E. Hollander as partner. Ms. Hollander brings with her a team of seasoned IP professionals, including Jocelyn Belloni, counsel; and Sharoni Finkelstein, associate. Two paralegals will join later this week. Ms. Hollander and her team join Venable from K&L Gates.
Having spent decades in intellectual property litigation and counseling, Ms. Hollander and her team have significant experience in trademark, copyright, unfair competition, trade dress, and false advertising cases. The group represents high-profile and leading brand-name clients in the technology, Internet, retail, consumer products, entertainment, finance, and healthcare industries and focuses on the prevention of genericism and dilution of brands. They have been responsible for several precedent-setting trademark decisions and jury verdicts.

Ms. Hollander frequently appears before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as district and appellate courts throughout the country. She also manages the international trademark portfolios for clients in industries such as fitness, food and beverage, consumer products, education, entertainment, financial services, business consulting, and technology and develops comprehensive enforcement efforts in protecting and policing intellectual property rights. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She earned her B.A. from Pitzer College.
Counsel Jocelyn Belloni advises clients on all aspects of brand protection and disputes. Her practice focuses on managing global trademark portfolios and trademark enforcement programs. She is experienced in all aspects of trademark law, including trademark clearance, prosecution, and licensing, as well as domain names, keyword advertising, and social media.
Associate Sharoni Finkelstein, who will be resident in the firm’s Los Angeles office, concentrates her practice in trademark prosecution and enforcement, and in the strategic management of intellectual property portfolios for clients.
