New Tax Litigation Partner Joins Baker Botts in San Francisco

Baker Botts L.L.P. is expanding its award winning Tax Practice with the addition of Jon Feldhammer, who arrives as partner from Perkins Coie. Mr. Feldhammer will be based in San Francisco.

“Jon is an outstanding tax lawyer who brings a wealth of experience and insightful perspective at both the federal and state tax level to Baker Botts. Jon will add significant value for our national and California based clients, and will become part of one of the industry’s strongest tax groups of over fifty tax lawyers worldwide,” said Andrew M. Baker, Managing Partner of Baker Botts.

“As a former senior trial lawyer for the Internal Revenue Service, Jon has a track record of resolving complex tax issues before the IRS. He has literally litigated hundreds of cases before the Tax Court. His intimate familiarity with those in the IRS and Chief Counsel office will add tremendous depth and diversity to our team. He also has extensive experience before the California Franchise Tax Board and other California agencies. His extensive experience adds further depth to our Tax Litigation Practice,” said Richard Husseini, Chair of the firm’s Tax Practice and member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

“Since we opened our San Francisco office three years ago we have seen real momentum and growth in the market. Adding a lawyer with Jon’s background and experience is another sign of the confidence that the market and clients have in our team,” said Pat Stanton, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s San Francisco office.

Mr. Feldhammer represents businesses and high net-worth individuals in tax disputes covering the range of income, estate and gift, international, and employment tax issues at the IRS and California administrative levels and before federal and state courts.
