Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that experienced tax lawyer Lucas Rachuba has joined the firm as a partner in the Tax and Private Equity practices, based in the San Francisco office. His arrival adds further momentum to the significant growth of the firm’s Private Equity and M&A practices. Rachuba joins Paul Hastings from Ernst & Young, where he led the international tax consulting practice for its West Coast asset management practice.

An experienced tax lawyer, Rachuba focuses his practice on private equity, credit, hedge funds, venture capital, and real estate. His clients include private equity firms, portfolio companies, public companies, and stand-alone fund clients. He works directly with private equity principals, boards of directors, and members of senior management. He also advises on various topics related to fund structuring with a focus on international issues, carried interests, and tax elements of compensation structuring.
