Fox Rothschild Expands Into Pacific Northwest Through Merger With Riddell Williams

Marking its first foray into the Pacific Northwest, Fox Rothschild LLP announces a merger with Seattle-based Riddell Williams. The move, effective May 15, significantly expands Fox’s geographic reach and adds 39 attorneys to Fox’s bench.

“This a region where we have long wanted to establish a strong presence, and Riddell Williams was the ideal partner because it has deep roots in the business and civic community and its attorneys are immensely respected,” said Mark L. Silow, Fox’s firmwide chair. “As one of the fastest growing cities in the country, Seattle is a thriving metropolitan area with a pervasive and influential technology sector.”

The merger expands Fox’s bench in several key national practice areas: corporate, employment, environmental, financial services and creditors’ rights, litigation and real estate.

“We were thrilled to find a firm that fits so seamlessly with the national platform we have built over the years,” said Mark L. Morris, Fox’s firmwide managing partner. “Riddell has a diverse cadre of attorneys who share Fox’s entrepreneurial philosophy and approach to providing outstanding client service.”

Riddell Williams was founded in 1906 and is known for its versatile, individualized representation of clients with corporate, employment, environmental, financial services and creditors’ rights, litigation and real estate matters. Chambers USA has routinely recognized several of Riddell’s practices and attorneys among leaders in the law.

Joe Shickich, who serves as CEO of Riddell Williams and will be Fox’s Seattle Office Managing Partner, said, “We are excited to join an innovative, dynamic and growing firm like Fox. This allows us to mean more and be more for our clients, who will benefit from our new national platform and the resources of a full-service firm.”

Fox has grown significantly in recent years, joining the ranks of the AmLaw 100 with the addition of offices in Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Minneapolis. The firm now has offices in 13 states – California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington – and the District of Columbia.
