Finnegan to Open Office in Seoul

Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, one of the world’s largest intellectual property law firms, announced today that it has received a license from the South Korean government to open an office in Seoul. Milbank Opens Office in Seoul, Korea

Adding an important hub to its longstanding Asia practice, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP announced it is opening a Foreign Legal Consultant Office in Seoul, Korea. The new office will be headed by Milbank partner Young Joon Kim, a Korean native who started his career with Milbank in New York, and for the past decade has been based in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Mr. Kim was managing partner of Milbank’s Tokyo office from 1997-2003.

One of the first US law firms to establish an Asia-based practice in the mid-1970s, Milbank has a long history of doing business in Korea, well before foreign law firms began to be licensed to practice in the country in 2012. More >>

Stephenson Harwood launches Seoul office

Stephenson Harwood celebrated the opening of its new office last night at The British Embassy in Seoul.

Two hundred clients and contacts joined key personnel from Stephenson Harwood at its launch event, which follows from the firm receiving its licence to open in August this year. The firm has for some time acted for some of Korea’s largest conglomerates across shipping, ship-building and ship finance work, banking, and trade sectors.
