Recently, Carol Zhu and Steve Zhao joined Zhong Lun Law Firm’s Shanghai Office as Partners.
Carol Zhu graduated from Shanghai Normal University and Fudan University with LL.B. and LL.M., and is qualified to practice law in the PRC. Carol has focused on the research and practice of labor law and human resources since 1996: she had worked in famous European and US companies for more than 10 years where she was responsible for human resources and industrial relations in China and Asia Pacific, and subsequently was a senior associate of the Employment, Pension and Benefits group at a leading international law firm. She has advised international clients on matters related to trade unions, collective contracts, foreign employment, FCPA, anti-corruption, lay-offs and labor disputes and collective labor disputes, and is a seasonal consultant for HR professionals regarding their daily operation matters. She is known as “a lawyer of HR and an HR of lawyers.”
Steve Zhao obtained his B.A. and Bachelor of Economics from Peking University, and J.D. from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Steve is qualified to practice law in both PRC and New York State, and had practiced at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and other major domestic firms. His practice areas include inbound and outbound direct investments, M&A, VC/PE fund formation and investments, carbon trading and financing, real estates and anti-trust.
