Procopio, San Diego’s largest law firm, announced the addition of two new partners and one associate to their Silicon Valley office. The Southern California-headquarted firm continues its significant push in Silicon Valley, adding Jon Gonzales and Bob Sloss as partners in their Menlo Park office. Associate Aiko Yamakawa also joined the office, relocating from San Diego.
Gonzales joins the business and technology team. His background includes representing private and publicly held companies and investment firms in general business matters with an emphasis in business formations, venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, public company filings, and corporate governance. He has vast experience representing technology companies in the mobile, social, Internet, software, semiconductor and hardware sectors. Prior to joining Procopio, Gonzales was a partner at GCA Law Partners. He has served as Chief Corporate Counsel at a public semiconductor company (Atmel); Vice President and General Counsel at Idealab; and as an attorney with Wilson Sonsini. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He received his BBA in Accounting and MPA in Taxation from the University of Texas (Austin), and his J.D. from Stanford Law School.
Sloss joins the Intellectual Property Litigation team from Oracle, where he was Senior Corporate Counsel, supervising various parts of Oracle’s intellectual property litigation. Prior to that, he was a partner at Farella Braun + Martell. He has more than 30 years’ experience litigating intellectual property and commercial disputes. With his unique experience, both with a large law firm, and for a top tier global technology firm, Sloss brings a unique set of skills to resolve clients’ legal disputes. Sloss has litigated patent infringement cases across the technology spectrum – including software, hardware, devices and biotechnology.
