DLA Piper adds M&A partner Brandee Fernandez in Silicon Valley

DLA Piper announced today that Brandee Fernandez has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as a partner in the Silicon Valley office.

Fernandez focuses on domestic and international M&A transactions and represents strategic and private equity buyers, public and private company sellers, and stockholders. She advises clients in all aspects of the deal process, including working with corporate boards and senior management on pre-acquisition planning, transaction structuring, drafting and negotiating acquisition and related agreements, and post-acquisition integration planning.

“Brandee has impressive experience in leading complex public and private M&A transactions involving many prominent companies in the technology, life sciences, and food and beverage industries,” said Eric Wang, co-chair of the firm’s Northern California Corporate practice. “She will be a key contributor to our robust transactional practice and help tackle the healthy pipeline of deal activity in the Bay Area.”

In addition to her transactional work, Fernandez counsels emerging growth companies in connection with their formation and development, addressing formation, compensation, financing and other corporate matters.

“Brandee is a natural and proven dealmaker who has demonstrated a relentless drive in servicing clients at every stage of the acquisition and sale process,” said Richard Scudellari, managing partner of DLA Piper’s Silicon Valley office. “Her M&A skills will complement the firm’s global, full service platform and deep bench of Corporate practitioners.”

“The extensiveness of DLA Piper’s industry experience, with an especially strong understanding of the technology and life sciences sectors in Silicon Valley, provides me with a great range of resources to utilize on behalf of my clients, whether for M&A transactions or managing and growing their day-to-day businesses,” Fernandez added.

Fernandez joins DLA Piper from Cooley LLP. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Davis, and her B.A. from California State University, San Marcos. She is also a member of the American Bar Association’s M&A Committee of the Business Law Section.
