Global law firm Hogan Lovells announced today that Christopher Cox will join the firm’s Silicon Valley office as a partner in its Litigation practice. Cox joins the firm from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he led the firm’s California complex commercial litigation practice.
Cox has deep trial experience in state and federal courts in California and throughout the country, as well as the arbitral forum. For more than 25 years, Cox has advised both domestic and international companies on a wide variety of litigation, intellectual property, and employment matters, including commercial disputes, internal investigations, trade secrets, and patents. His litigation experience covers a full spectrum of technologies and includes multi-jurisdictional and international disputes, multidistrict litigations, class actions and adversary proceedings.
“We’re delighted that a highly skilled and experienced litigator like Chris is joining our team. He will be a valuable resource in Northern California for our clients,” said Des Hogan, Head of the Litigation practice in the Americas. “We have strategically been expanding our team in Silicon Valley and his practice will complement the outstanding work our California-based lawyers do here in the U.S. and globally. Chris has extensive experience representing technology companies, and will add to our roster of strong tech litigators who can meet the growing needs of our many clients in the technology sector.”
The addition of Cox is one of many in the Silicon Valley office in the past two years. A five-partner strong M&A and technology transactions team including Richard Climan, Keith Flaum, Jane Ross, John Brockland, and Chris Moore, as well as the addition of Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits partner Mike Frank joined the firm in 2017.
