Global law firm White & Case LLP announced today that Jason Tomita will join the Firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice as a partner in its Silicon Valley office.
“The positive momentum of our M&A practice continues to accelerate as Bloomberg ranked the firm first by deal value in its global M&A league table for the first half of 2016,” said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. “Jason’s depth of experience advising on public and private technology-focused deals will be a tremendous resource for our tech clients as they pursue their objectives in both the United States and globally.”
The addition of Tomita supports the Firm’s strategy to vigorously grow the M&A Practice generally, and the tech-focused practice particularly. Tomita joins White & Case from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom’s Silicon Valley office, where he was a lead adviser on many notable public and private M&A transactions for some of the world’s most well-known tech companies. He has also represented clients in the finance, retail and energy sectors and in a wide range of corporate matters, including strategic joint ventures and financings. Tomita’s Japanese language abilities and experience with US/Japan cross-border deals will also enhance the Firm’s ability to provide global coverage for M&A transactions involving Japan.
“Jason is an outstanding M&A lawyer with exceptional experience advising significant companies as a lead lawyer on their most important domestic and global transactions,” said White & Case partner Greg Pryor, Americas Regional Section Head, M&A/Corporate. “He will play an important role in the continued expansion of our Silicon Valley M&A Practice.”
