Reinforcing Pillsbury’s established reputation as a technology sector leader, the firm has recruited acclaimed corporate securities and technology transactions practitioner Shaalu Mehra as partner in its Silicon Valley office and the leader of the firm’s Global Technology Policy practice. Mehra joins Pillsbury’s Corporate practice from Gibson Dunn, where he served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Technology Transactions Group.

Mehra leads a unique and thriving technology-focused practice, integrating leading-edge expertise in corporate and venture finance; technology collaborations; technology regulation; and intellectual property transactions. He brings more than two decades of experience in these fields to the firm, over the course of which he has led numerous landmark representations of prominent multinationals and innovative venture-backed startups.
Mehra’s arrival builds upon the firm’s substantial technology transactions practice and regulatory capabilities. His two decades of experience guiding technology company boards, executives, and investors through the emergence of existential legal, policy, and commercial challenges will significantly augment the firm’s existing capabilities in this area and further strengthen a multidisciplinary team that is regularly engaged by the sector to advise on public policy, corporate and venture capital, technology infrastructure, crisis management, trade and competition issues. Together, this cross-functional team will help clients around the world establish the cohesive strategies and real-time responses needed to address rapidly emerging and evolving legislative, regulatory, and industry governance developments.

He also serves on the National Advisory Board of the University of Michigan Department of Computer Science and Engineering, where he received his graduate degree prior to law school.
