Rimon Law Welcomes Eight-Person Intellectual Property Group from Duane Morris’ Silicon Valley Office

Expanding its team of top Intellectual Property attorneys, Rimon Law is pleased to welcome an eight-person group from the Silicon Valley office of Duane Morris, including four partners.

The partners include Karineh Khachatourian, who founded and previously served as managing partner of Duane Morris’ Silicon Valley office, Amir A. Tabarrok, Dr. David T. Xue and Justin W. Zahrt.

Also joining will be associate Nikolaus Woloszczuk and three staff members.

What’s more, their experience goes beyond the legal industry – they have been creators and business leaders in their own right before getting into the law,” said Michael Moradzadeh, CEO of Rimon Law.

The group will be joining an experienced IP team of 19 Partners, including recent additions Patrick Kuehl, Jr., Matt Poppe, Zheng Liu, Gabriel Gregg, Peng Chen, and Max Waldbaum. The IP team works closely with the Corporate, Tax, Private Client, and Litigation teams to ensure that Rimon’s clients benefit from full-spectrum representation.

Our clients demand the creative thinking, nimbleness and an ability to think outside of the box that has been Rimon’s hallmark,” said Ms. Khachatourian.

Ms. Khachatourian is a first chair IP litigator who handles matters ranging from network enterprise, semiconductor and consumer products, software, and the internet of things in court and at the Patent and Trademark office. In addition to founding Duane Morris’ Silicon Valley office, Ms. Khachatourian served as a past member of the firm’s governing Partners Board. She was recognized by Silicon Valley Business Journal as a Women of Influence and as one of The Recorder’s Women Leaders in Tech Law.

Ms. Khachatourian is also committed to advancing diversity in the legal profession and serves on the Watermark board, a group for executive women and supports organizations such as IP Counsel Café; Chips, an organization focused on women in IP law; and Salonnieres, a social organization for women professionals.

Mr. Tabarrok is a registered patent attorney focused on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical, mechanical and computer software fields. He has a Masters’ in Electrical Engineering.

Dr. Xue, who has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, represents clients in the full array of patent issues, including counseling, prosecution, litigation and IPR and ITC proceedings. Dr. Xue previously worked as director of product development at Alibaba Inc. and Vice President of Vimicro International, a fabless semiconductor firm. He received the Outstanding Chinese Patent Award by the State Intellectual Property Office of China.

Mr. Zahrt is a registered patent attorney who represents clients in obtaining, evaluating and protecting IP. His experience has helped clients in portfolio generation and management.

Mr. Woloszczuk handles patent law and litigation. He received his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law and his B.S. from the University of Washington.
