White & Case Continues Growth in Silicon Valley with the Addition of David Okano and Bruce Yen as Partners

Global law firm White & Case LLP continues to expand its Silicon Valley office with the addition of intellectual property litigators David Okano and Bruce Yen as partners. Okano and Yen will work alongside Yar Chaikovsky and Philip Ou, the Firm’s most recent additions to the Intellectual Property practice. Both new partners join the firm from Paul Hastings LLP.

“Silicon Valley is the central hub for global tech, and David and Bruce will be joining us as part of a 10-lawyer team that recently came over with Yar and Phil,” said White & Case partner and co-head of its Global Technology Industry Group, Aalok Sharma. “The continued expansion of this group presents a game changing opportunity, and our ability to add a team of this caliber who will immediately build out both the intellectual property tech litigation offering and the Silicon Valley office is an exciting prospect for the Firm.”

Okano’s practice focuses on patent and trade secret litigation in district courts, appeals to the Federal Circuit, and post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Yen’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, and he has represented clients in federal district courts as well as before the United States International Trade Commission. Both focus on the technology sector.

“The Firm is committed to offering high tech companies a full range of legal services, while securing a strong presence in the intellectual property and technology sectors,” said Heather Burke, White & Case’s Silicon Valley Office Executive Partner. “The arrival of Yar, Phil, David and Bruce will anchor our presence on the West Coast, allowing us to serve both existing and new clients in complex technology patent litigation matters.”
