Stamford Law builds on its strength as a leading regional player with the addition of Mr. Daniel Yong to its top-tier corporate practice.
Continuing from recent recruitment of prominent lawyers from recognised international practices, Stamford Law is pleased to welcome Daniel as a Director in the corporate team. He joins Stamford Law from Norton Rose Singapore where he was a Corporate Partner. He started up and led the office’s investment funds practice and spearheaded its development.
“We continue to strengthen our firm across our practice areas,” said Mrs. Lee Suet-Fern, Senior Director of Stamford Law. “Daniel brings with him a wealth of cross-border transactional experience and is a key addition to our corporate advisory practice. He enhances our capabilities in advising funds clients across the region, and is highly experienced and understands the many complex issues that funds and private equity clients face when investing in Asia.”
Daniel is experienced in fund formation, cross-border M&A and private equity work, working for a wide variety of clients in the finance, real estate, energy and infrastructure sectors. Recent experience includes establishing a US$1 billion private equity fund investing in PRC real estate assets and a US$150 million clean energy fund. He also regularly advises on licensing requirements under the Securities and Futures Act for fund managers, other capital markets services providers and clearing houses.
He is admitted to both the Singapore and the English bar and prior to entering private practice, was a State Counsel and Deputy Public Prosecutor with the Attorney-General’s Chambers in Singapore. Daniel graduated with an LL.B. (Hons, Deans List) from the National University of Singapore and holds an LL.M. from Cambridge University where he was a Pegasus Scholar.
