Mr. R. Ravindran joined as a Partner of Colin Ng & Partners LLP (CNP) on 5 June 2013 in its Dispute Resolution and Corporate Advisory practice of the firm.
Ravindran has advised directors and CEOs on laws pertaining to directors’ duties and corporate governance. His experience concentrates on areas of private equity investments, including venture capital and general corporate and joint venture agreements. He is currently an independent director of 2 Singapore incorporated SGX-ST listed companies.
Prior to this, Ravindran also handled real estate and conveyancing work and in the course of his practice, he has represented individual retail clients as well as institutional ones in a range of real estate work. Ravindran has handled a variety of acquisitions, divestments, mortgages and leases for residential, commercial and industrial properties.
Ravindran has also undertaken regional corporate and advisory work in Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Vietnam and Myanmar. He has also handled criminal and civil litigation for many years for several clients and continues to provide valuable niche services to clients.
Ravindran was a Member of Parliament for the Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency and the Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency from 2001 to 2006 and from 1997 to 2001 respectively. He has held other appointments such as the Chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Defence and Foreign Affairs; Deputy Chairman of GPC for Home Affairs and Law. He has also served as a Board Member of People’s Association from 2002 to 2006. He was also the former Deputy Chairman of Bukit Timah Town Council and a member of Marine Parade Town Council. He was also a former member of South East Community Development Council. He has also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
