Taylor Wessing today announces the addition of a Singapore presence of more than 60 fee earners to its existing 13 offices across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Taylor Wessing and leading Singapore firm RHT Law LLP initially formed an alliance through an exclusive cooperation agreement in August 2011. RHT Law will formally join Taylor Wessing, as RHTLaw Taylor Wessing, on 16 March 2012.
Taylor Wessing has been pursuing a clear international strategy since 2010, a primary focus of which is expansion into the growth economies of Asia and the Middle East. As a fastgrowing economy and a centre for investment flows into and out of Asia and the Middle East, Singapore fits squarely into Taylor Wessing’s growth strategy.
RHTLaw Taylor Wessing will service Taylor Wessing’s multinational client base for both in and outbound business. The tie-up will also create a wider network for Taylor Wessing in Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Tim Eyles, Managing Partner of Taylor Wessing UK, comments:
“Having established a relationship with a Singapore practice that combines a deep rooted local knowledge with an active international outlook, the addition of RHT Law to Taylor Wessing is the natural next step for us as part of our wider goal to expand into the growth economies and to provide a seamless service for clients in Asia and South East Asia for both in and outbound business. With the opening up of the Asian legal market, we are now perfectly positioned to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the regional and global markets and turn our collective experience to the benefit of our clients.”
Subhas Anandan, Senior Partner and Supervisory Council Member of RHT Law LLP, comments:
“Our cooperation of the past six months has clearly established that joining Taylor Wessing will further internationalise our business and maximise the opportunities in this dynamic region. We are delighted to join Taylor Wessing and together we look forward to driving our further growth in the coming years.”
