The Singapore office of Watson, Farley & Williams LLP (“WFW”) is pleased to announce that it has advised Golar LNG Energy Limited (“Golar”) in relation to Indonesia’s first floating offshore regasification unit (“FSRU”) now known as “Nusantara Regas Satu” (formerly known as the “Khannur”).
This is also the first floating regasification facility in South East Asia.
The FSRU:
is chartered to PT Nusantara Regas which is a joint venture between Pertamina and Perusahaan Gas Negara;
- has a capacity of 500-million-cubic-feet-per-day;
- is to be moored at the Jakarta Bay and connected to a 15-kilometre purpose-built pipeline which in turn transports gas to onshore gas fired power stations in Maura Karang and Tanjung Priok; and
- is Indonesian-flagged and is wholly-owned by an Indonesian entity, in compliance with Indonesian cabotage requirements.
WFW advised Golar on the establishment of the Indonesian corporate and ownership structures as well as the transfer of FSRU to the Indonesian entity.
