Global legal practiceSquire Sanders officially launched its office in Singapore earlier this month with a reception at One On the Bund, part of the former Clifford Pier. The reception attracted over 150 guests, including the US Ambassador to Singapore, David Adelman, and Singapore’s Ambassador to Peru and High Commissioner to Ghana, Giam Chin Toon.
The Singapore office, headed by Ignatius Hwang, represents multinational corporations, governments and banks on major infrastructure projects including public-private partnership projects, cross-border transactions, international arbitration, financing arrangements and corporate restructurings in Singapore, Asia and the Middle East. The team also has a particular expertise in the field of energy, infrastructure and resources.
Ignatius Hwang said: “We were delighted to welcome so many guests to our reception and have the opportunity to share with them our vision for the office, one of 37 Squire Sanders’ offices that span 18 countries. The Singapore office is a key component of Squire Sanders’ Asia Pacific growth strategy and over time we expect to grow the office substantially, particularly in the area of cross-border transactions and international arbitration.”
Guests at the event ranged from policy makers to industrial leaders and top-tier professional advisers. They were joined by Squire Sanders’ chair and global CEO, James J. Maiwurm, and 17 partners from the legal practice’s offices across the world.
