The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Michelle Chen has joined as a partner in the Banking & Finance Practice. Formerly a partner with Herbert Smith, Ms. Chen will be based in the Firm’s Singapore Office.
Ms. Chen focuses her practice on structured finance, in particular project finance and pre-export finance in the energy sector, where she has more than 20 years of experience. She has led some of the largest and most significant project financing transactions in the Asia Pacific region, including several significant pre-export finance transactions. Ms. Chen also has considerable experience in credit insurance, restructuring, and general financings.

Ms. Chen received a B.A. of Law from Oxford University. She is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
