KhattarWong LLP announces the appointment of Mr Shashi Nathan, one of Singapore’s leading criminal defence lawyers, as Partner of Criminal Litigation Department.
Mr Nathan specialises in cases involving white collar and blue collar crimes. His white collar experience includes advising and defending institutions as well as individual clients. Well versed in Singapore’s regulatory and compliance framework, in particular the Securities and Futures Act, he has handled numerous cases relating to corruption, insider trading, market manipulation, tax fraud, as well as a spectrum of legislation dealing with corporate malfeasance. Mr Nathan has also acted in many high-profile cases involving murder, sexual offences and drug trafficking.

Prior to joining KhattarWong, Mr Nathan headed the Criminal Litigation Practice at INCA Law, a boutique multi-disciplinary law firm. Prior to that, he was a Partner and Head of Criminal Litigation at Harry Elias Partnership LLP for over 10 years and had practised at KhattarWong between 1992 and 2000. He also sits on the Criminal Practice and Admissions Committees of the Law Society of Singapore and was a founding member and past Vice President of Association of Criminal Lawyers in Singapore.
While focusing on his legal career, Mr Nathan is also keen on the education of young lawyers and law students. He is regularly invited by Singapore Academy of Law as a panelist and speaker for conferences. He also guest lectures at the Faculties of Law of the National University of Singapore and Singapore Management University.
