Morgan Lewis Stamford today welcomes corporate lawyer Vanessa Ng as a partner of Morgan Lewis & Bockius and a director of Morgan Lewis Stamford. Vanessa, who arrives from Conyers Dill & Pearman in Singapore, represents corporations in a variety of finance and transactional matters.
Vanessa focuses on corporate finance, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions for listed and unlisted companies, takeovers, general offers, and other corporate transactions. She also advises clients on continuing listing obligations as well as other capital market transactions such as initial public offerings, placements, right issues, and share buy-backs. Vanessa joins with corporate associate Ee Vin Wong.
“Vanessa has played a significant role in a large number of notable deals involving companies both within and outside of Singapore,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “I am delighted to welcome her to the firm, where she will advise our clients on their critical financing and transactional matters.”
Morgan Lewis established a major presence in Singapore in 2015 following its combination with Stamford Law Corporation, one of Singapore’s most highly regarded law firms, where Vanessa practiced as a senior associate earlier in her career. Since then, the firm’s Asia practice has experienced considerable growth by establishing an office in Hong Kong through an affiliation with Luk & Partners, and expanding its offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Tokyo. In late 2018, the firm further grew its Singapore presence with the addition of corporate partner Karun Cariappa and bankruptcy and restructuring partner Guan Feng Chen.
“Vanessa has a well-rounded background in virtually all aspects of corporate and transactional law that will serve our clients well,” said Joo Khin Ng, managing partner of the firm’s Singapore office. “I am pleased to be working with her again here at Morgan Lewis Stamford.”
“In Vanessa we see a combination of strong legal experience along with sharp business acumen,” said Steve Browne, leader of Morgan Lewis’s global corporate and business transactions practice. “She will ably assist our clients in growing their companies and maximizing their opportunities.”
